Helpful Hints
- Etiquette Counts! When it comes to formatting addresses, there can be many questions. Carrie Shuping has written a wonderful guide ("No Regrets") that will help answer most any question you may have on the subject.
- A little elbow room. When ordering envelopes or place cards, please remember to order an extra 10 for every 100. Traditionally, you should send out your wedding invitations 4-6 weeks before the big day. Ordering invitations and envelopes should be done at least six months prior to your wedding date, if possible.
- Spell Check is your friend. Remember to spell check your lists before sending them to me. Lists need to be in alphabetical order. I can provide you with a simple spreadsheet to use, if you would like. Have someone go over the list with you to make sure you did not leave off a name, title, or zip code. Double and triple check those lists!
- Organizing your list alphabetically. You never want to accidentally miss having someone important on your list because you were not as organized as you could have been. It's also easier for the both of us if I happen to have a question about a specific entry if we are not having to fumble through every page trying to find the right name. Here's a little hint on how to create an alphabetized guest list on Excel. There is one extra step that you must take. You must designate the very first column as "Last Name" only. It is this step alone that allows you to alphabetize your guest list. With that format, you can easily sort your lists by the first column after adding new entries.
